Meet some of our senior experts and staff:

William J. Heran, Ph.D., LCSW
Clinical Director

Dr. Heran oversees all clinical aspects of the Seabrook House adult detox and residential programs. He earned his Master in Social Work degree from New York University and his Doctorate in Social Work from Smith College in Massachusetts. He is a licensed clinical social worker in the states of New Jersey and Hawaii, with specialized training in family therapy. Prior to coming to Seabrook House, Dr. Heran was co-founder, owner and clinical director of Paradise Recovery residential addiction program in Honolulu, Hawaii. He brings over 20 years of clinical social work experience as well as program development, funding, recruitment and accreditation compliance. Dr. Heran integrates theory and practice, specifically using psychodynamic therapies in treating PTSD and co-occurring disorders.

Director of Substance Abuse Services

"T. Lynn" oversees all clinical and medical services in the evening hours at Seabrook House. She earned her Doctorate in Psychology (Psy. D.) from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Clinical Psychology, and also holds two Master Degrees (Clinical Health Psychology and Counseling Psychology). She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Dr. Bennett has been working in the behavioral health field since 1989. T. Lynn has been in recovery from chemical dependency since 2000.

Mark Wallen, M.D., ASAM - Staff Psychiatrist

Dr. Wallen has 27 years of experience as a licensed, practicing psychiatrist and is a certified member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). Dr. Wallen performs full psychiatric evaluations for Seabrook House patients and provides medication management. He earned his Doctorate in Medicine from the Medical School of UMDNJ and is certified in Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, and Addiction Medicine. In addition to providing psychiatric services to our patients, Dr. Wallen serves as the medical director of Livengrin Foundation in Bensalem, PA

Edward A. Luker, M.A. - Director of Family Services

‘Eddie’ developed the Family Program (now known as the Family Matrix Program) for Seabrook House in 2004.  Since then, under Eddie’s leadership, the Family Department has evolved into a full range of family services that includes to Children’s Education Program, Couples in Recovery Workshop and family aftercare programs.  In addition to developing family programs at Seabrook House, Eddie has counseled families, compulsive gamblers, and trauma survivors during his 15 + years of experience in the addiction field.  He earned his Master’s Degree at Alfred Adler Graduate School in Minnesota and has been trained in EMDR and experiential therapies such as psychodrama.

George P. Koren, Jr., M.Ed., LCADC, CMS, LPC - Specialty Therapist

George holds a Master's of Education Degree in Counseling, is a Certified Mental Illness Chemical Abuse (MICA) Specialist, a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). With his more than 30 years experience in the behavioral health field, George has experience working with chemical dependency, co-occurring disorders, developmental disabilities, and family issues. He also treats for pain, anxiety, and stress with hypnosis as a Certified Fellow in Clinical Hypnotherapy. He is additionally trained and is a practicioner of EMDR. George also embraces a way of life based on the Twelve Step principles of recovery.

Zina Rodriguz, MSW, LSW - Clinical Outreach Representative

Zina is a Licensed Social Worker in the State of New Jersey (NJ) and received her Masters of Social Work degree with a concentration in administration from Fordham University, New York, NY. After many years in the corporate sector as a production manager for the International Council of Shopping Centers, Zina returned to school. Prior to joining Seabrook House, Zina served as Director of Marketing and Business Development for a large addiction treatment center in northern New Jersey. In addiction, Zina facilitated intensive outpatient addiction treatment groups.

Patricia Connors, BA, CAC - Clinical Outreach Representative

Servicing Southern New Jersey and the Phildelphia area

Patricia Connors, has been a Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC) for over 20 years. "Pat" has worked in the addictions field for the past 22 years as a therapist and counseling supervisor, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. Prior to joining Seabrook House, Pat served as Community Development Liaison for an inpatient rehabilitation program within a large hospital in Northern New Jersey. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA.

Dave Thomas, B.P.S. - Executive Chef

As Executive Chef, Dave is responsible for managing a team of food service specialists and designing the Seabrook House menu, in accordance with the highest standards of nutrition. Thomas joins Seabrook House from the Marriott Plaza Hotel in Greenville, South Carolina, where he served as Executive Chef. In his nearly three decades of experience, he has held Executive Chef positions for Hilton, Sheraton, Hyatt, the Atlantic City Convention Center (NJ), Spring Valley Country Club in Columbia, SC., and Sunset Country Club in Sumter, SC. Dave earned his Bachelor of Professional Studies Degree (B.P.S.) from the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park, NY and served an internship at Maxim’s in Paris, France.
